Butt Augmentation

What is Butt Augmentation?

Butt augmentation is done through the surgical placement of a silicon implant between the muscles of the gluteus maximus or through a special technique where fat is harvested from other areas of the body through liposuction and transferred to the butt. Both types of butt augmentation require several small cuts to be made for the insertion of the implant into the buttocks, and, if necessary, for the fat retrieval procedure.

Benefits of Butt Augmentation

Butt augmentation can balance the figure and create an enhanced derriere that looks and feels as natural as the one provided by Mother Nature. Butt augmentation is sometimes used after breast enlargement to create an aesthetically appealing figure with all of the features in proportion. Many patients find that butt augmentation makes clothing fit better and gives them greater confidence in their sexuality.

Butt Augmentation FAQ

What is the Recovery Time of Butt Augmentation?

Swelling and bruising may be severe during the first two days following butt augmentation, but these should clear quickly. Patients may suffer discomfort for as long as two weeks, but prescription medication should make the pain bearable. Patients are asked not to drive for the first two weeks, and strenuous physical exercise should be delayed for a month. Patients will wear a compression garment for several weeks after surgery and will be asked to sleep on their stomachs as much as possible.

Do I need Anesthesia for Butt Augmentation?

The doctor may use either local anesthesia or general anesthesia during butt augmentation treatment, depending on the patient and the amount of work to be done. A few doctors use epidurals to perform butt augmentation.

Is Butt Augmentation Safe?

Butt augmentation carries very few risks. Infection occurs in fewer than two percent of patients, and very few stitches are required. Some patients experience numbness, but this usually goes away as healing progresses. Nerve damage is a possibility, as is scarring, lumpiness, and dimpling. Patients who are particularly skinny may have more difficulty than those with plenty of fat on their bodies.

Do I need to Prepare for Butt Augmentation?

Patients should not smoke nor take blood-thinning preparations during the month before surgery. It may also be recommended that the patient consume large quantities of foods containing vitamin-K to limit bruising. Patients will need to arrange for transportation home from the hospital because of an inability to drive.

How Long Does Butt Augmentation Last?

Butt augmentation through the use of implants is considered permanent, but it is possible for the implants to leak or burst. If this happens, further surgery will be necessary to replace them. When harvested fat is used as filler, the body slowly absorbs a percentage of it over time, but at least fifty percent should be retained permanently.
